Table 1
Gel strength codes of Bottle testing method are listed below.
| Code | Gel type | Gel behavior in bottle |
|---|---|---|
| A | No detectable gel | The gel solution appears to have almost the same fluidity as an initial solution |
| B | Highly flowing gel | The gel is comparatively slightly more viscous |
| C | Flowing gel | The gel flows up to the cap upon inversion |
| D | Moderately flowing gel | A small portion of gel does not flow to the cap upon inversion |
| E | Barely flowing gel | A small portion of gel slowly flows to the cap upon inversion |
| F | Highly deformable non-flowing gel | No gel flow upon inversion (gel flows to just short of reaching the bottle cap) |
| G | Moderately deformable non-flowing gel | The gel flows approximately halfway upon inversion |
| H | Slightly deformable non-flowing gel | Only the gel surface deforms upon slightly inversion |
| I | Rigid gel | There is no gel surface deformation on the inversion |
| J | Ringing rigid gel | A tuning-fork-like mechanical vibration can be felt after the bottle is tapped |
