The 8-bit images of experimental, X, (left side) and numerical, Y, (right side) result. The red boxes are two sample patches (x, y) of 11 × 11 pixels around a center pixel used for comparing the mean, variance, and covariance of both images. These measure patches are computed for all pixels of the image to find the similarity.
